What should I do when I lose a tooth?<\/h2>\n

1<\/p>\n

Pick the tooth up by the crown (shining white part normally visible in the mouth) and avoid touching the root.<\/p>\n

2<\/p>\n

Rinse the root off under cold running water for approximately 10 seconds or lick the tooth clean as best you can.<\/p>\n

3<\/p>\n

Carefully put the tooth back in its original socket. Don\u2019t worry if the tooth doesn\u2019t fit perfectly \u2013 that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n

4<\/p>\n

Bite down on a piece of gauze or cotton wool to hold the tooth in place and go to the emergency dentist immediately.<\/p>\n
